We have come to live in a world where expressing such a basic emotion as love requires both vulnerability and bravery. So, I wanted this collection to radiate with boldness. To push my evolving illustrations of time, love, growth and healing into a new level. To create unexpected and bold pairings of color and shape. Stretching and going beyond boundaries and conceptual confines, with the painting reaching onto the frames, as if it has its own sovereignty.

This first collection of the year, aptly named after the Jimi Hendrix song “Bold as Love”, attempts to tap into the beauty of boldness. The breathless moment when beauty has reached beyond our previously held notions and ideas. Because that beauty can be found in everything, each piece of this collection contains salvaged and up cycled materials — be it the frame, substrate or incorporated materials. Lastly, as a small piece of nostalgia, every piece is titled after a favorite or sentimental love song of mine, while growing up.

My intention is that these pieces will immerse you in a sense of boldness, playfulness and perhaps a moment reminiscent of when love took your breath away.
