Winter Solstice III
The shortest day of the year in terms of daylight, with the longest night. It is because the Earth is tilted furthest from the sun. For centuries, cultures around the world have celebrated this day as the “sun’s rebirth”.
These small abstracts were created in the midst of a restless time, and one filled will several close losses in a row, after a long stretch of personal struggles. I created these as a reminder that even the longest nights cannot last forever.
This 5” x 7” mini abstract comes float mounted on an 8” x 10” mat board that is available in gold frame or unframed. Please see photos for reference of frame. The unframed version is easy to pop into any standard 8” x 10” frame.
I styled this frame with the glass removed to showcase the beautiful textures and edges of the work.
Materials:
Ink, acrylic paint, and spray paint on yupo paper
